Hello, beautiful friends, it's Katie. And welcome to this week's Monday motivation. I am coming to you knowing that you are probably listening to this message at a time when things are uncertain and activated and agitated and feeling like we're living in one of the most uncertain times of our lives now, I know that there's a lot of information coming at you right now. There's a lot of different people giving advice and thoughts and feedback around how you should be feeling or what you should be doing, and I want to offer another perspective,
just because I know enough to know that I don't know exactly what you should be doing or feeling or even believing. And I think that one of the things I'm noticing is that this is a time and a call for us to embrace our authenticity and our truth and our values on a deeper level, because that is the only thing I know that is true and reliable. So what does that mean? Basically, what it means is that we have to become more responsible for our unique perspectives, thoughts, feelings, reactions, emotions, and really root deeper into who we are and what we believe in, so that we can continue to show up as the person that we know we are, regardless of what's going on around us. The reason why I'm saying that is because we have been in a state of response and trauma for so long that we are conditioned to always be in a state of reaction, and even though this is a time when we need to be aware, it's a time to be vigilant. It's a time to be mindful of what's going on, to listen, to pay attention, we also want to give ourselves an opportunity to really do the things we need to do, to take care of ourselves, meeting our nervous systems, our emotions, our thoughts, our feelings, and that's why I'm saying there is no one size fits all solution here. There is no one right way to do it. And it's really going to come down to who you are and what you choose to do in response to what's happening and what you're feeling and what you believe.
I think it's a different way of living life, and it might feel more vulnerable and scary than asking somebody what to do or how to respond or
what to believe in, because we have been outsourcing our power and outsourcing our belief systems and our validation for so long that it's sometimes hard for us to simply be with ourselves and our feelings and accept the things that are happening. And it's a challenge to do it, and yet it's also the one thing that I know works, and I know it works from the standpoint of being a catalyst for change, sort of embracing and embodying the person that you want to be every single day, those types of things are not going to change regardless. And so this is where my experience in supporting people, in healing from trauma and emotional patterns and pain and nervous system dysregulation is coming into play, because we are in a state when we are probably feeling ourselves activated, right we're feeling ourselves agitated. A lot of our stuff is coming up right now as it should, as it's meant to, and being present in your body, being able to ground yourself, being able to breathe, being able to focus on who you are, what you believe in, and what's true for you is really a make or break thing, because it gives you the autonomy, the authority, the sovereignty. And that's a big buzzword, or they're big buzzwords, but these are the things that that I believe we're looking for. So how can you take this information and apply it to your life this week. Well, you can do a couple things that are very basic things, right? You can pick and choose when you go on social media. You can choose to redefine your relationship with social media, with the news, with the way you engage with information.
Information. You can choose and regulate who you connect with, who you respond to. You can choose to carve out time for yourself to take care of yourself. So that means being mindful of the way you take care of your body, the way you consume information, the way you choose to interact with other people who you share your thoughts, opinions and feelings with. It means taking care of your body. So choosing the types of foods that you're eating, this might be a really good time for you to pay attention to an anti inflammatory diet, right? Taking care of your nervous system, your immune system, because, again, these are the things we can control right now. One of the greatest things that I've done for myself in the last year was going to a naturopath and really taking an honest look at what's happening in my body, getting a handle on my gut, getting a handle on my stress response, so looking at my adrenals and my thyroid and my gut and my reactions to food, because it's given me another way to better care for myself, to make healthier choices, and in doing so, it's allowing me to care for myself and my body and my stress responses. Now I know that choosing to eat gluten and dairy adds to my stress, so choosing to not eat those particular things adds to my healing and adds to my clarity and my ability to make powerful decisions and show up for myself every single day. So being mindful and caring for yourself, for your mind, for your body, that's a really big thing right now, and it can make a really big difference in your life. So don't be afraid to take a stand and carve out the time you need to care for yourself.
Another big thing is really looking at what you want in the face and really allowing yourself to be okay with what you see, and also choosing the things that you want to focus on and change this year. We are from a world of, you know, high expectations and achieving and seeking, and there's all of this stuff that we're bombarded with, social media, programs, coaching books. You know, we're always we're working harder, maybe not smarter. And so if you take a step back and you root into yourself, and you really get clear on who you are and what it is that you really want, what is it that you really need? It's going to make your life a lot easier, because we live in a world of excess. We are always, you know, thinking we need to be better and do more, because what we have isn't enough. And if you take a step back and you really root into your truth and your core, it's going to be a lot easier for you to eliminate the distractions and focus on what matters. So these are a couple things you can do right now, to take care of yourself, to support yourself as we go through this challenging time. Some of these are very basic things about, you know, taking care of your body, taking care of your nervous system, taking care of your diet, your health. And the reason why I like that is because it's tangible. It's what we have access to. Right, our body is the house we live in. Right? Our soul gets to live in the body. So we want to take care of our bodies now. We want to take care of our minds. We want to take care of our relationships. So focus on the things that you can control. Focus on the things that you know, that you really believe in just because it will give you a solid foundation for staying focused and moving forward and really giving you access to a lot of the things you want in life, regardless of what's happening. what I'm calling the worthiness wound, and the truth about the worthiness wound and why it might be holding you back. And I introduced you to these four different archetypes that can help you understand what's really going on and holding you back. It was a wonderful workshop. I had so many brilliant participants, wonderful feedback around how empowering it is to better understand yourself and how illuminating it is to you know, see these different pieces in play. It's also a really powerful time, because when we go through changes like this, it's very disruptive, and disruption is one of those things that we can't get away from. You know, they are working on my bathroom right now, so my pipes have been leaking for two years. How are we solving that problem? Well, we've had to strip the bathroom down to the studs, which means I don't have a bathroom right now, which is very uncomfortable for me, but it's, it's what it takes to get down to the roots of what's holding you back. And that's the work we're doing this year. It's a perfect analogy, because if you are, if something's out of sorts, right, if you're leaking, if you're not functioning properly, if you're not, you know, in alignment with who you truly are, it's a lot harder for you to get where you want to go.
So minimorphis is kind of like the energetic mirror image of what's happening to my bathroom right now. So we're stripping things down. We're getting to the roots.
