Katie. Hello, beautiful friends. It's Katie, and welcome to this week's Monday motivation on January 27, 2025
I am honored to be with you today as we move through what has felt like a very tumultuous beginning of 2025 and stepping into this bold sort of ferocious energy of navigating change in whatever ways we can. So before we dive into the message this week, the first thing I want to do is remind you and encourage you to be mindful of your breath. Because one of the things I have observed after working with people for 15 years, teaching workshops, teaching classes, working with people individually, is that we become so desensitized and we become so overwhelmed that we don't even realize that we're not breathing.
And so what ends up happening is we condition ourselves to operate and function without breath, without life force, energy, and then we wonder why we feel so stressed out and overwhelmed, and it's hard to regulate our nervous systems. And so one thing you can do, which is something I'm a huge proponent, a huge fan of, is putting your hands on your heart, closing your eyes, feeling your feet on the ground, and just taking a big breath.
And so you can do that right now, if you have the capacity to do that, if you're listening, if you're sitting, obviously, if you're driving, don't do that right now. But you can actually breathe in and simply breathe out. And notice what that does to your nervous system and notice how it even the slightest bit, can help you release some of that anxiety and stress you're holding on to.
Because I have observed, after working with people for 15 years and living in a body myself, it's very easy to condition yourself to function without taking a breath. And a lot of times, what happens is we realize that we have become so good at operating without this that we don't even know that we're not breathing.
So this simple act of checking in with your breath, being mindful of how you're breathing, if you're breathing at all, is a beautiful way to reset your nervous system and to slowly condition yourself to be more present with yourself, to have more compassion and to also do some very gentle healing, because when we don't breathe, we are cutting ourselves off from life force, energy itself. And we need that right now, right? We need to be connected to our power.
We need to be connected to anything and everything that helps us stay connected to one another, connected to the earth, connected to our own power, and one of the best ways to do that is through our breath. So please take that do with it, what you will and practice it on a regular basis, and you'll notice that it begins to shift things for you in a very simple way, but also a very profound way, and piggybacking on just that concept of breath, I wanted to talk briefly about these beautiful energies coming in, because we do have a new moon on Wednesday, and it is also the Chinese New Year.
And last year was the year of the dragon. We're moving into the year of the snake. And I think the snake is a very interesting place for us to be, because a lot of times, I don't know about you, but when I was a little girl, I was very scared of snakes.
Snakes have a sort of negative connotation in so many different ways we all know about, you know the snake in the Garden of Eden. And snakes are sort of creepy and slithery and they shed their skin. But snakes are also one of the most powerful symbols of transformation. We have, rebirth, growth, Kundalini energy is represented by the snake.
And so as we move into this new year, the year of the snake. One of the things we're going to find is that we're all being encouraged to sort of pass through that portal of rebirth and transformation. And the unfortunate thing is that growth and transformation and rebirth can often feel uncomfortable because we're letting things go, we're releasing things we're having to sort of take a good, honest look at the things that have been sort of holding us back, or, you know, maybe the things that we've experienced in the past.
There's a there's a process of of grief, right? There's a shedding, there's a molting that comes along with this process, and we're moving into that for this year. So I feel like every single one of us, whether we like it or not, like whether we're excited about it or not, one of the things I want to do is get you excited about this idea of transformation and rebirth, because what it means is that you really can allow yourself to fully sort of shake off the.
The old stories from your past, the pain from your past, and begin creating something new. And that's one of the things that are, you know, that I love about this concept of the snake, because when the snake sheds its skin, it's not worried about sort of what happens next. You know, it's not like I can't let go of my skin, because it knows that there's more skin to be had, right? There's more skin to be created. And also, as a snake grows, it needs bigger skin. And so what we're doing, on a fundamental level, is we're expanding our minds, our energy fields. And if you think about it that way, it makes it a little bit more exciting, pleasurable, positive than this process of death and letting go. And a lot of times we feel sort of negatively about the fact that we are having to change, right? The fact that we have to go through this process.
And when you shift it in your mind to a more positive light, like I get to go through this process so that I can transform, so that I can be released. It just becomes more joyous, and the more excited and positive you feel about the process, the better time you're gonna have going through it. And I know, because I've also been going through this, and I talk very openly, as you know, about the things that I've been experiencing, and I've done my fair share of clinging to the past and sort of making it hard for me to move on, and questioning my growth and worrying if I'm moving in the right direction. You know, I do it too. And then I realize that every time I hold on like that, right? So like every time I grip every time I try to control the transformation, I'm making it harder for myself, and then I'm introducing pain and struggle and suffering and inflammation, and I'm just making it that much harder for me to actually move on when I know I want to be free, I know I want to be on the other side. And this isn't just for me. This is universal.

So I've developed a framework for what I call the fragmented feminine, which is basically what happens when we go through trauma, when we live our lives, we get split into these pieces.
And I kind of think a lot of it was done on purpose, because a person who's not whole, who's not complete, who's not fully present, is so much easier to control. And so the point of this workshop is to teach you how to come back into your body, to teach you how to make peace with those parts of yourself that might be at war,and to really give you solutions on a foundational level to solve this problem of not thinking you're enough, or sort of being ashamed of who you are, the guilt of wanting to move on. It's a very emotional process, this transformation, this rebirth, and this workshop is really designed to help you do this in a way, so you do get to the other side, because just like you, I know what it likes to feel like I'm in this never ending cycle of growth and transformation and then having to start over and feeling like I don't have all the answers, and it can be really, really challenging if you don't have the right sort of roadmap.
And so this workshop wildly worthy is happening. It just so happens to be that I'm teaching it on the new moon and the Chinese New Year, so Wednesday and then Thursday. Am I breathing? How am I feeling in my body? Am I taking the time to be with myself? Am I feeling my feelings? It sounds simple and basic, but it's the difference between sort of steamrolling yourself and pushing yourself to be somewhere or do something that you might not want to do or be ready to do, and actually giving yourself permission to slow down and really be present with yourself. And presence is the most powerful state to be in.
When you're present in your body. You are aware. You are awake. You have the capacity to sort of create in a more empowered way than if you are unconscious, or if you're asleep or if you're numb, right? We can't, we can't get where we want to go if we're not like all with it. So whether you feel like, Yeah, I'm on board, or you're a little bit not.
So sure right now, because of the way the world is, I totally get it. I'm right there with you, and what I want to do here is offer you solutions, right? Give you some tools, give you some concepts, things to think about, to help you move through this transformation and also get to where you want to be.
Because I do know one thing, and this will always be true, is that the more present you are in your body, and the more connected to your truth, and the more complete you feel, the more whole you are, the more power you have to actually create what you want. And that's what I'm in the business of doing here, is empowering you to feel fully connected to yourself, to feel like you have the capacity to do what you need to do, to think for yourself, because it's very important right now, and that is what this the energies of this week are about.
