Hello, beautiful friends. It's Katie. And welcome to a brand new Monday motivation kicking off the new year 2025, a year, designed to really step into a new energy, create new vibrations and begin cultivating more intentionally what it is that we truly want inside and out.
It just so happens that today is a full moon. And one of my favorite philosophies when it comes to talking about full moons in particular is the way it allows us to illuminate our psyche and access some of the deeper parts of ourselves that need healing. So what that means is, if you've been feeling tender lately, emotionally raw or emotionally like, things are coming up to the surface. Maybe you felt confused. You felt like you're stuck in the past.
There's a lot of different ways that we phrase this, but basically what I'm saying is, if you've been feeling like you've been processing some emotion, trauma, experiences that you've been holding on to, it makes perfect sense that you'd be doing that. Because oftentimes, before we transition into a new year, we find ourselves taking stock of the things we want to let go of the things that we want to change. There's such a heavy emphasis on, you know, making these big changes in a really bold and powerful way, just because the the year goes from 2024 to 2025 and a lot of times, what that does is it puts us in a position of pressure and fear and anxiety because we feel like we've got to get it right this time. Or, you know, all, all is all is going to be lost. Or, like, all this time and energy we spent is going to be a waste, because we're not really getting where we want to go.
So in a nutshell, this Full Moon is an opportunity for you to take a step back to feel on a deeper level. And you know me, I'm all about embodiment, somatics, using your body as a compass to support you in better understanding what might be holding you back, the feelings that need to be released healed, because our body does indeed keep the score, but it also, as I say, it likes to destroy the evidence, which means it's holding on to shit for you, and it's keeping it from you.
So the full moon often stirs these feelings, and it's an indication that it's time to heal. It's time for you to take a look at something, maybe address a pattern, maybe let a relationship go. And you know me, I'm very honest, I'm very authentic, and I share often the types of experiences I'm having. And one of the patterns that's been coming to light for me is this understanding that we cannot control everything, and letting go of the need to protect ourselves by trying to control things so that could be a universal theme.
You might resonate with that as well, and what that looks like on a deeper level is understanding how you might be holding emotions back or avoiding doing healing work or having difficult conversations, whatever it is your specific way of trying to control the outcome, and looking at why you do that, why you might be doing that, why you think it's a good idea to try and do that. Like, what's your motivation here? So understanding on a deeper level why you might be choosing to hold things back, avoid, try to protect yourself. It's a really great way at getting underneath the surface and sort of moving into a deeper level of understanding and compassion around why you've been doing the things you've been doing, and also why it might be a good idea for you to do something about it moving forward.
So this is the theme for this Full Moon this week. In particular, if this is resonating with you, couple of things you can do. One, you can do an emotional inventory. So what that looks like, at least in my in my world, in the Shaktibomb way, the way we do it is centering yourself, grounding yourself, coming into your body, and then really looking for the way you're feeling in your body. What is your body showing you that needs to be released?
A lot of times, we get pain. We get, you know, tension. We get Stress we get. You know, feeling fatigued, things like that, the body will really help you understand the ways you're trying to protect yourself when you become more tuned to what you're feeling on a deeper level. So putting your hands on your heart, grounding, breathing, using my glow, wild, daily ritual, if you have that, if you don't have it, you can go on over to the website and grab it, but this opportunity to really dig deeper into what it is that you're feeling and let your body show you the patterns that are ready to be released, and using that to better understand some of these patterns and stories, and the sooner you do that, the quicker you're going to be on the path to freedom, because the opposite of control is freedom and the opposite of avoidance is growth, right?
So opening yourself up to more, if you want more, if you want change, if you want healing, you have to be willing to get uncomfortable, and that means no longer doing the things that you've been doing to protect yourself, you know, keep yourself stuck, right? We do it because we think it's the right thing to do, like we think it's we think it's the right thing to do, because we, on some level, we we believe that by protecting ourselves, you know, we're going to keep ourselves from getting hurt again or getting rejected again.
It's very simple and complex at the same time. But then when you understand, okay, so by holding this thing in or by keeping myself stuck or frozen, I'm not able to move on, then you understand why it might be beneficial for you to try something new, to open up to more, to let that thing go, to explore it on a deeper level. And this is what's available for you with this full moon. So as I was suggesting, you can do this simple inventory for yourself. That's a great way to get started.
